very very clean and quiet pub stayed over 27 august for motogp a great bar person.. bar was brill cheap beer and nuts room very large conti breaky brill very very clean room hope go back next yr thanks from chris..

Cozy and friendly, traditional English pub. Unfortunately Punch Taverns seem intent to destroy this pub and so the lack of investment and constant price rises is gradually ripping the place to bits. Such a shame but probably to be expected from such a company. Pop in if you fancy good beer, friendly staff, entertaining customers and a national debt size bill for the drinks.
"Disappointing service and food"The pub was noisy and cold -we asked if the fire could be lit or the heating turned on and were told just 'no' -what happened to the ethos of "the customer is always right"?Just to put this in context, this is a quote from the AMAZON LOCAL offer that we were using:"Enjoy the homely surroundings of this relaxed restaurant and sit by the fire while you dine on your meal."The starters were good -no complaints there -but the white fish main course appeared to a be cheap cut that was full of bones and fins. We got minimal attention from the waiting staff during the meal to check that we were happy with everything.Overall, I felt that it could have been significantly better, for what was promised.
